An enormous anti-war demonstration, which one TV station estimated at 450,000 – strong, marched through London on 28 September.

It was on the same scale as the Countryside Alliance (CA) demonstration the previous week. But the organisers of the CA demonstration had massive finanicial backing and two years of preparation.

The anti-war demonstration included a wide range of peo;le of all ages and political background, from all over the country.

Socialist Party members got a very good response, with one member selling 78 papers. Tens of thousands of leaflets were distributed and Black & Asian Socialist Party members produced a special broadsheet.
