Paul Murphy, the United Left Alliance and Socialist Party MEP for Dublin, is in Greece supporting Syriza ahead of the general election taking place this Sunday.

Syriza, which opposes the EU-imposed austerity measures in Greece, came second during last month’s general election. In recent polls, it is predicted to come first this weekend or is running neck and neck with New Democracy, the main conservative party. The CWI in Greece, Xekinima, calls for Syriza to form a united left government committed to fight poverty and austerity and to introduce socialist policies.
