From March 14th to March 16th, Sosialis Alternatif (Socialist Alternative – CWI Malaysia) successfully held a national meeting. This meeting discussed global and local political perspectives, in depth, and will provide clarity of direction in organizing work as a revolutionary organization.
This meeting also marks the resurgence of the Alternative Socialist organization. The organization is back with committed members, with the skills to shape perspectives and practical experience. Membership and finances are also improving, with new material being published, and displayed on platforms, such as the employee newspaper and a revived website.
In addition, the organization is actively involved in intervention activities in growing social movements and has a good profile among young people. In fact, the recently concluded National Meeting was also visited by a member from Sekolah Merdeka, which is also joining forces with us to revive the campaign for the liberation of the Palestinian people.
We from the leadership of Sosialis Alternatif would like to express our gratitude and congratulations to all those who were directly involved in making this meeting a success. At the same time, we would also like to thank the members who, although they could not be with us during the meeting, still contributed financially and supported in solidarity. This meeting would not have been successful without the efforts and support of each member.
We hope that this support will continue with increased participation in the future. We also hope that this meeting will be a starting point for building a strong socialist revolutionary organization in Malaysia and the region.
