Protest against jailing of Joe Higgins TD and Cllr Clare Daly

An Taoiseach Mr Bertie Ahern T.D.

Mr Martin Cullen TD, Minister for the Environment and Local Government

Mr Michael McDowell TD, Minister for Justice, Equality and Law Reform

Sirs,

We wish to protest against the jailing of Joe Higgins T.D. and Cllr. Clare Daly for their role in the anti-bin charges campaigns. We fully disapprove of jailing democratically elected representatives to silence them. We also hold the position that the jailing is a form of class injustice, since none of the Irish millionaire tax dodgers that have been hiding money in offshore Ansbacher bank accounts has been arrested, let alone jailed.

Yours sincerely,

Mr. Johan Kwisthout

Mr. Dick Meeusen

Members of the council of the city of Breda, The Netherlands
