Workers and international socialists meet in Ruzomberok
Reply to a letter dated 22 November 2004, sent by the CEO of the company to all the employees.
The management of the Austrian based multinational Neusiedler in Ruzomberok, a town in central Slovakia, has decided to hand out redundancy notices to all workers who were involved in organising a new trade union.
A three-day national railway strike paralysed Slovakia from 1-3 February. The government clamped down on the strike using the High court to declare the action illegal.
