India: Two-day general strike

Government policies drive workers and poor to fight back

Their protest has been called by the main trade union organisations against the Congress government’s policies. Lucrative deals for direct investment by multinational companies are threatening the livelihoods and living standards of over one billion people!

The web-site of New Socialist Alternative (CWI in India) carries an article (here) detailing the issues and reproduces a leaflet being used on the streets to argue the case for struggle and for clear policies that involve public ownership and democratic planning.
