Below we post a video of Joe Higgins TD (member of the Irish Parliament) attacking the budget, handed down recent days by the Irish coalition government of Fine Gale and the Labour Party. This budget can only be described as criminal in it’s continuation of the austerity policy of the previous Fianna Fail/Green party government.
The previous government was badly defeated at the Irish general election in February, showing a total repudiation of their austerity policy aimed at making the working class pay for the capitalist crisis. The new budget goes so far as to introduce vicious new attacks on the sick, the elderly, the poor and the disabled while leaving the massive wealth amassed by the top 5% of Irish society totally untaxed.
